this weeks topic is about how eating animals can make them less endangered. If there is a use for an animal people will be more protective of that animal. For example chickens. Also, studies show that animals that were endangered but then werent were used for food or other stuff that is helpful.
Helping animals by domesticating them is a good idea. We should eat all animals so they do not become extinct. Using animals for something rather than letting them rot in the wild is good to do. We need to help the dying tigers.

week 16 is that a bible in your Pocket?
This article was about religious applications on iphone. It talked about how the iphone was beginning to become more then just a cellphone but also a religious tool. Some applications feature holy books like the Quaran and the Bible. All of these application help these users to become more spiritually inriched.
I think that the fact that the iphone can be used for more then just fun is a good thing. This is more likely to get people involved with religion. It provides an easy way to carry the Lord without a thick bible. These applications will be very useful

week 15 terrorism
This week the class watched a video about anti-American terrorists. The video showed people justifying their horrible actions with their religion. They wanted to start another holocaust, eliminating all religions, but their own. The video was shocking and should have been showed to the public as soon as the people released the footage. It showed what the people of America had not seen yet.
I do not believe that this video showed both sides of the story, but it showed an important part. The terrorists tried to use their religion to justify their violent actions. The US needs to try to prevent these extremists. We need to open their eyes to acceptance of other religion.

Silver alert week 14
Indiana may approve a new alert system similar to the Amber alert. The new alert would be called the Silver Alerts. This would alert Indiana of the missing adults who suffered of Alzheimer's disease. The alert would be significant in finding the wondering old people.
The new Silver alert is a good idea. I do not know how useful it would be if the Alzheimer's patient does not remember who they are. Also, the silver alert would not be as well known as the amber alert, so it may not be as effective. This alert could also cost a lot of unnecessary money.

Oscar De La Hoya retires (week 13)
Oscar De La Hoya ended his 16 year boxing carreer at the age of 36. His record is 39-6 with 30 knockouts, but he has lost 4 of his last 7 boxing matches. He plans to continue being involved with boxing outside of the ring through announcing. Oscar says he knows he can no longer compete at the level he use to be able to.
I believe that Oscar's retirenment was a good decision. His skills have diminished over times and he does not need to keep getting beat up. He is a legend among boxers, but if he was to keep boxing his reputation would be hurt. It is good that he is going to be an announcer and stay close to boxing.

What would you do? (week 11)
In the What Would You Do that I picked to blog about, the show was filming the reactions people had to witnessing others falling on the street. When the show had a woman faint, people almost immediately reacting by calling 911 or asking the lady if she needed help. The show also had someone dressed as a bum fainting. This actor recieved very little help from the watchers. Many ignored the man and moved on with their day, but some did respond. When the man was holding a beer can, almost noone responded.
Hopefully, my reaction to a fainting person would be to instantly help. I would reach for my cell phone and call 911. Even if the person was a bum I would hope to help him. This is what all catholics are called to do. We need to help the needy.
